Student Chapter
Elections:
The new officer elections are held on the last meeting of the spring semester.
The officers usually serve a one-year school term.
Activities (Meetings/Newsletter):
Meetings are held in Bell once a month, unless a project is undertaken and
requires extra
meetings. Our chapter newsletter had been distributed by email in the past. The new
newsletter
will be a brochure that will be distributed at the end of each semester.
Educational Activities:
Our chapter stresses the importance of individual and group involvement. This is
the only way a chapter can be successful and continue to actively grow. The educational
involvement includes the attendance of symposiums and conferences. The submissions of
papers and posters to various conferences are also encouraged and done. Our industrial
involvement consists of industrial speakers, plant trips and resume collections.
Volunteer Efforts:
Our volunteer efforts consist of a Thanksgiving food drive, Habitat for Humanity,
Arbor Day, Battered Women Shelter Assistance, Christmas toy donation, and Engineering
Awareness Week.
Social Activities:
Our chapter also believes that the social interaction with all members is very
important to keep communications open. These activities are based around the idea of
letting the members become familiar with each other and therefore become more interactive
with the chapter.
